Less than 15 minutesThis is a genuine Delonghi part. The Diffuser Kit is used in many models of Delonghi automatic espresso makers. The Diffuser is moved into position to catch coffee grounds, presses into the Generator, filters the coffee while it is brewed, and then ejects the used coffee grounds. This part should be replaced if it becomes clogged or no longer moves freely. To replace part simply squeeze the side clips together and pull directly out. Then, push the new one into place until there is a couple of clicks.

1. I worked for several hours and spoke to DeLonghi about the problem (none of their suggestions helped)- I vacuumed out the inside, cleaned the diffuser and was eventually was able to get the error message to disappear and the machine to make an espresso. But it recurred. I decided the most logical thing was that the arm that sweeps the "coffee puck" was not working.
2 I purchased the diffuser for $60 took out the old one and replaced in just a few minutes. So far so good. Machine is expensive and would have to ship 800 miles for service. Hope this works!
