Perfect replacement part but too long delivery time!
This ball bearing for my Dewalt circular saw was ordered along with an accompanying O-ring at the end of April. After three weeks of patience testing waiting, it became apparent that the O-ring was unavailable (likely never be procured from your supplier) and holding my order in limbo. So I cancelled the O-ring component of the order and then, after less than a week later, the long awaited ball bearing arrived. Hallelujah! It was installed without a hitch and my Dewalt saw is now running like a factory fresh newbie.
I well understand we are now in a changed world of higher priced everything and longer delivery times. But with my recent order with you folks, I think you could have done much better with honestly informing me of the status of that O-ring. Something like, "We regret to inform you, Mr. KH, that the O-ring you ordered had to be backordered and likely won't be available for at least two months", was certainly warranted and would have been much appreciated! Why leave the customer hanging in the dark? I say you can easily do better on the order status communication front!
Proof of your ability to provide quality service comes with the surely dozens of videos you have expertly produced, clearly showing in concise detail how to take apart a given power tool and replace a defective part within. Excellent job! Now if you could just apply that expertise to providing a complete and truthful forecast (with updates as needed) of an order's likely arrival date (no matter how embarrassing and long the predicted wait!), you folks will be right as rain!

Print out exploded parts list to get general idea of disassembly sequence. Remove parts until bearing and bracket are free. Press bearing out of bracket, press new bearing back into bracket. Reassemble in reverse order. Belt now tracks correctly and machine runs smoothly.

1 Removed the screws in the sanding plate and the platen
2 Removed the platen
3 Removed the bearing
4 Replaced the bearing
5 Took the sandpaper wire holders from the old platen and installed in the new platen
6 Screwed the platen and the sanding plate back in place
7 Turned the sander back on to validate that it was fixed

2. Removed sanding disc plate by loosening set screw and carefully prying off.
3. Removed screws and belt guard.
4. R&R belt.
5. Reverse of steps 3, 2, 1
6. Unscrewed bearing housing cover
7. Removed bearing from belt shaft
8. Placed new bearing on belt shaft.
9. Replaced bearing housing cover a
10. Aligned belt.

Head bearing wore out on Porter Cable 7800 power sander

Parts Used
Disassembled the backup pad, and drive pad beneath to expose bearing. Removed bearing snap ring to remove worn out bearing and spindle. Cleaned, removed snap ring and re-used for reassembly of new parts, and reinstalled. Snap ring pliers needed to be the tiniest one made which I didn't have, so I used my grinder to grind off the end of the old spindle to remove. I would recommend that the 2 parts be sold as one assembly. If not make sure you order a new snap ring for spindle attachment to bearing. The large retainer snap ring for bearing can easily be re-used.
