LOCALLY, here in North Central Florida, I have found that the service at Alachua Farm & Lumber to be outstanding.
After two plus years of watching my granddaughter at Easton Newberry Sports Complex - more of us in the family thought we would give this sport a try. My ambition is just fun, so I decided that a much less expensive bow than my granddaughter's would do. I also have a strong fondness for anything made of wood. My feeling is - if God wanted us to have carbon or metal bows he would have made carbon or metal trees.
None-the-less, in my search for a wood bow with and economical price tag I happily found Andover Archery Center. This small company in Connecticut gives very good internet and telephone service. I intend to purchase more items from them soon - and I do recommend them.
After studying their web-site and doing additional research I decided to get the 66" 22# Firefox. The handle riser is laminated hardwoods and has bushings installed. The limbs are maple core with black fiberglass face and backed with finished limb tips. It comes with the proper bowstring and nock point installed. A durable rubber arrow holder is also installed.
They set up everything before shipping. I strung the bow with their FREE bow stringer. The brace height was exactly 8 1/4 inches... ready to go. Also got an arm guard and finger tab at the same time. Andover Archery Center shipped right away and I got items in three days. All and all.... great service. Now ready to try shooting for the first time.
